Gerald was killed during the Easter week of1918 He was the second son of the late Reverend J Jefferies Jones incumbant of St Columba Knock Belfast Ireland and  Mrs Geraldine Blanch France of 'Ferndale' Westward Ho! (1911 census) 'Beacon Lights' Westward Ho! (1918 Bideford Gazette) Her Father was Lieut Col Richard Dawson late of the 75th Reg Gordon Highlanders.  Gerald's occupation before the war was with the National Provincial Bank Plymouth.
