Son of the late Lorne A Campbell (ICS) and Cecilia L Campbell. Cecil was born in India. Local connection through Probate indicates that Cecilia his mother died in Westward Ho! in 1898 and is in St Margarets Churchyard with her brother Charles William Martin  Zn 15

Cecil served with the Royal engineers and was drowned at sea. He was aboard the Japanese Steamship 'Hirano Maro' bound for Singapore when she was torpedoed off the coast of Ireland by U-boat UB 91.
